IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT CHANGES TO YOUR ROGERS CONNECTIONS MASTERCARD® ACCOUNT

 

As of May 17, 2023 we are making changes to your legal documents to:

  • provide eligible Rogers customers with 2% cash back
  • remove the annual fee
  • clarify how rewards will be calculated
  • enhance our disclosures

After the Launch Date, eligible Rogers customers will be able to earn 2% cash back on eligible purchases. Please review the details below to see who is eligible, what action to take and what other changes we are making to ensure you understand how rewards are calculated. As a reminder, don’t forget to link your Rogers Connections Mastercard® to your MyRogers account to unlock all your Rogers benefits.

CHANGES TO YOUR ROGERS CONNECTIONS MASTERCARD® ACCOUNT

Cash Back Rewards

We are increasing the cash back rate for eligible Rogers customers. If you are an eligible Rogers customer as of the posting date of a transaction on your account, 2 points (equivalent to 2%) will be added to your rewards account for every dollar of an eligible purchase made with your account. Credit transactions on your account will also be deducted at a rate of 2 points (equivalent to 2%) per dollar. If you are not an eligible Rogers customer, your current rewards rates for both eligible purchases (1 point/1%) and eligible U.S. dollar purchases (2 points/2%) will continue to apply.

Eligible 2% Customers

You are eligible if you:

  • are actively subscribed to an eligible Rogers Wireless plan and an eligible Rogers Home service
  • have linked your Rogers Connections Mastercard to one of your eligible Rogers accounts
  • have all your relevant Rogers accounts in good standing

An eligible Rogers Wireless plan means any postpaid Rogers-branded consumer wireless plan.

An eligible Rogers Home service means an eligible Rogers-branded internet, TV, home phone or home monitoring service within the eligible home services area. The eligible home services area is New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario (except Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie). Wireless Home Internet, Mobile Internet and Rogers home services that are not paid for directly by the individual accountholder are also excluded. See further details below.

You can qualify if you are the primary account holder or Level 1 Authorized User or have two separate accounts.

What Action To Take

You must link your Rogers Connections Mastercard to your Rogers account to be eligible to receive 2% cash back. If you have linked and you are eligible, 2% cash back will automatically be applied to your rewards account in accordance with the Rogers Bank Rewards terms and conditions on the Launch Date. It may take up to 7 business days for changes to your status and/or account linking to be updated and for you to start earning a new cash back rate. After the Launch Date, you can check your eligibility through the Rogers Bank app or by contacting our call centre.

Annual Fee

Currently the annual fee is $0 for the first year and $29 annually afterwards. We are removing the annual fee that would normally apply after your first year and the annual fee is now $0. As a result, we are also removing the annual fee rebate offer.

How Rewards Are Calculated And Other Clarifications

For all clients, rewards will be earned or deducted on a per-transaction basis based on the posting date of the transaction and whether you are an eligible 2% customer as of that posting date. Transactions in foreign currencies are converted to Canadian dollars for the purposes of calculating rewards added or deducted. For clarity, fractions of a point (the equivalent to less than a cent) cannot be redeemed.

We’ve made some clarifications to how Roam Like Home days reset for customers that switched to a Rogers Connections Mastercard from a different credit card, which are detailed below. We’ve also clarified that if you unlink your Rogers Connections Mastercard from a Rogers account, you must wait 35 days to link to a new Rogers account.

To align with these changes, Rogers Communications Canada Inc. (“Rogers”) has amended the terms of your Rogers Services Benefits Terms and Conditions for Rogers Connections Mastercard and Rogers Bank has amended the terms of your Disclosure Summary for any Rogers Bank Mastercard and Rogers Connections Mastercard Rewards Program Terms and Conditions. Attached is a detailed side-by-side of the changes to these documents. These changes will take effect on May 17.

Your use of your credit card account or your credit card after May 17 will mean that you have accepted these changes. For residents of Quebec, if you do not agree with this change, you may terminate your credit card account with us by June 16 without cost or penalty after any remaining balance is paid in full.

Enrolment and Linking

To receive the Rogers Services Benefits, you must link your Rogers Connections Mastercard account to an eligible Rogers account through the Rogers Bank app or by calling Rogers Bank at 1 855 775-2265. An eligible Rogers account is any Rogers consumer account where you are either the primary account holder or have permission to make changes (i.e. Level 1 Authorized User). Only one (1) Rogers Connections Mastercard can be linked to one (1) Rogers account. If you want to change the Rogers account you link to, you must first unlink through the Rogers Bank app or by calling Rogers Bank, wait until the end of your current Rogers billing cycle and then link again to your new Rogers account.

To receive the Rogers Services Benefits and other benefits, you must link your Rogers Connections Mastercard account to an eligible Rogers account through the Rogers Bank app or by calling Rogers Bank at 1 855 775-2265. An eligible Rogers account is any Rogers consumer account where you are either the primary account holder or have permission to make changes (i.e. Level 1 Authorized User). Only one (1) Rogers Connections Mastercard can be linked to one (1) Rogers account. You may not link to a Rogers account that has a 12-digit account number until other eligible services are added to your Rogers account and the account number is updated. If you want to change the Rogers account you link to, you must first unlink through the Rogers Bank app then link to your new Rogers account after 35 days have passed.

Rogers Services Benefits- Conditions

Roam Like Home benefits reset every year on the anniversary of the date that your Rogers Connections Mastercard account was opened.

Unused Roam Like Home benefits cannot be carried over beyond the anniversary date.

Any cellular telephone number associated with an eligible Rogers account can use the Roam Like Home benefits on a first come first serve basis.

Roam Like Home benefits reset every year on the anniversary of the date that your Rogers Connections Mastercard account was opened (for new Rogers Bank customers) or the anniversary of the date that your original Rogers Bank credit card was opened (if you switched to a Rogers Connections Mastercard).

Any wireless telephone number associated with an eligible Rogers account can use the Roam Like Home benefits on a first come first serve basis.

Account Linking
To be eligible for certain rewards and benefits, you must link your Rogers Connections Mastercard to your Rogers account(s). Account linking is governed by the Rogers Services Benefits Terms and Conditions for Rogers Connections Mastercard. It may take up to 7 business days for changes to your status as an Eligible 2% Customer and/or account linking to be reflected on your Rogers Bank Rewards Account (and the number of Rewards that you earn on Eligible Purchases). Status changes can occur due to adding or removing Rogers products or failure to maintain your Rogers account in good standing. You can check your account linking status and your status as an Eligible 2% Customer on the Rogers Bank app or by calling Rogers Bank.

Earning Rewards
Rewards are earned on Net Purchases. Rewards are earned on a per-transaction basis and are added to your Rewards Account as long as your Account is open and you are not in default under your Cardholder Agreement at the time the relevant transaction was posted. All Rewards earned on the Account (including by any Authorized User) will be credited to the Primary Cardholder’s Rewards Account.

Your Rewards will be calculated as follows:

  • 2.0 points for every dollar ($1.00) of Net Purchases made with your Account in United States dollars (which is equal to a Rewards value of 2.00%).

Any credits (for returns or otherwise) will be deducted from your Rewards Account at the same rate as the Rewards were earned. We have the right to make any other adjustments to your Rewards Account in accordance with your Cardholder Agreement and these Terms and Conditions. In some cases, your Rewards Account balance could become negative.

Rewards credits and debits are reflected in your Rewards Account. You can view your Rewards Account online by logging into www.rogersbank.com or the Rogers Bank app.

Your Rewards will be calculated as follows if you are not an Eligible 2% Customer as of the Posting Date:

  • 2 points for every one dollar ($1.00) of an Eligible Purchase made with your Account in United States dollars (which is equal to a Rewards value of 2%) and 2 points deducted from your Rewards Account for every one dollar ($1.00) of a Credit on your Account in United States Dollars.
  • 1 point added to your Rewards Account for every one dollar ($1.00) of any other Eligible Purchase made with your Account (which is equal to a Rewards value of 1%) and 1 point deducted from your Rewards Account for every one dollar ($1.00) of any other Credit on your Account.

Rewards credits and debits are reflected in your Rewards Account. From time to time, we may offer bonus Rewards to you.

You may also be offered the opportunity to earn Rewards via our special affiliations and relationships with business partners from time to time. The terms and conditions applicable to any such offers will be communicated to you at the time of such offer.

Eligible Home Services Area means New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario (except Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie).

Eligible Rogers Wireless Plan means a postpaid Rogers-branded consumer wireless plan. Business/corporate plans do not qualify. Wireless plans with chatr, Fido or any other brands owned or acquired by Rogers also do not qualify.

Eligible Rogers Home Service means any Rogers-branded internet (excluding wireless home internet and mobile internet), TV, home phone or home monitoring service within the Eligible Home Services Area. Home services with any other brands owned or acquired by Rogers do not qualify. Rogers home services that are not paid for directly by the individual accountholder, including when paid through condo fees or directly by a landlord, are also excluded.

Posting Date means the date a transaction is posted to your Rewards Account.

Definitions (deleted)

Net Purchases means all Eligible Purchases charged to the Account, less returns.

Primary Cardholder has the meaning set out in your Cardholder Agreement.

Rogers Connections Mastercard Annual Fee Rebate Terms and Conditions

We will rebate your annual fee for your Rogers Connections Mastercard® account if, at the time your annual fee is charged, you have used your Rogers Connections Mastercard to pay at least ten (10) Rogers Communications Canada Inc. monthly bills in full since your Rogers Connections Mastercard account was opened or since your last annual fee was charged (as applicable). Payments must be made through MyRogers or by setting up a recurring payment to qualify. One-time payments in-store or by phone do not qualify. If you qualify for the rebate, you will see a charge for your annual fee, along with the rebate, on your monthly statement. This offer is not transferable and cannot be combined with any other offer. It may be withdrawn or changed without notice at any time. We may, in our sole discretion, revoke this offer if you are believed to be manipulating or abusing it, or engaging in any suspicious or fraudulent activity.
